The newly launched Barcelona Tennis Academy at Vilanova i la Geltrú is now up and running.

Tennis Director, Juan Carlos Baguena, is currently training some extremely high level juniors, including a 14-year-old girl and a boy of 16 from Mexico, a Czech girl who is also 14 and a very strong 11-year-old from England. This is an excellent start for the new Academy and we are already getting a good number of other enquiries for the New Year.

Work is in progress to prepare and furnish our Luxury Apartments, which are currently planned for occupation from February 2006. In the meantime, accommodation for our current players is in the Atenea Park ApartHotel, for which you will find a contact URL on the Links Page.

Our Head Coach at the Barcelona Tennis Acdemy, Juan Carlos Baguena, went to Durban, South Africa, last month to take part in the World Championships for Over 35 players. He was part of the Spanish team.

They won!

The team started off by playing a Round Robin against Austria, the UK and the Czech Republic, winning all matches. They then beat the USA 3 - 0 in the Semi-Finals and France 3 - 0 in the Finals.

Congratulations to Juan Carlos and the rest of the team - what a great achievement !

Juan Carlos is also the current Spanish Over-35s Singles Champion.
